To honor those men and women who are the first to respond to unfortunate situations in order to save the lives and health of others, we can show our appreciation to those who currently serve as first responders.
Say “Thank you” Via Social Media
The Thank You First Responder initiative is an organization that has been put together so that we can learn more about what first responders do and how we can get involved so that they can more fully and successfully perform their jobs.
One of the ways that you can share your gratitude with first responders on a larger scale is by getting onto Twitter, Instagram, Flickr or Google+, typing out some of your thoughts and then tagging your post with the hashtag #ThankYouFirstResponder. Your message will then be displayed on the Thank You First Responder website and also on social media.
Bake Some Cookies and Drop Them Off at the Station
Cookies are the easiest and most delicious way to express gratitude and show appreciation for someone. While the first responders will be grateful that you supplied them with something to eat, they’ll be even more grateful for the time you took out of your busy life to make them feel appreciated.
Don’t Be Afraid to Just Say Thank You
If you see a police officer out in public, don’t be afraid to approach him or her, shake their hand and tell them “thank you.” Letters are nice and social media shoutouts mean a lot as well, but being face to face with someone who truly appreciates what you do can make a huge impact in the life of that first responder.
We couldn’t be more grateful for those who put their lives on the line to keep us safe, and we’d love to have them come pay us a visit. If you know someone who is a first responder, bring them into your local Cheddar’s and let us reward their goodness with a bit of our own.
