Salmon Tastes as Good as It Looks

How many fish can you name with such vibrant hues that paint colors are named after them? Not only is salmon pretty in pink (and, uh, salmon), it’s one of the most popular fish in the world, and for good reason: It’s a healthful choice that tastes great.

We’re big fans of salmon at Cheddar’s, too. We choose sustainable Atlantic salmon, cut the filets in-house and perfectly sear them to order. Each filet can be prepared and seasoned in one of three delicious ways: grilled, blackened or glazed with bourbon sauce. Our sauce, made in-house, has a complex, sweet but savory flavor that perfectly complements fish. Served over rice, our salmon is garnished with a lemon wedge and comes with your choice of two scratch-made sides.

Here’s why you can feel good about eating something that tastes so good. Classified as a low-mercury fish, salmon is packed with lean, high-quality protein and heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. This “good fat” protects the health of your heart in many ways.

With all that goodness, it’s not surprising that doctors recommend one to two servings of fish a week for most people. So make your doctor — and your heart —happy by regularly enjoying this prized fish.

Interestingly, most salmon are born in freshwater, migrate to the sea and return to the freshwater area where they were born to reproduce. They are favorites of grizzly bears and bald eagles when they are migrating upstream, often battling strong currents and rapids.

Isn’t your life easy compared to that of a salmon? All you have to do is migrate to your local Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen and let us be good to your heart.
